I run an Amazon fulfilment centre, a building where thousands of orders start their journey every day. My job is to make sure it works tomorrow, next month and in peak season, not just today.

  • Own the building's results: performance, quality, cost and the strategy to grow them.
  • Plan ahead: budget, labour and capacity for the week, the month, the year and the peak.
  • Keep people safe. Health and safety standards are mine to protect.
  • Grow leaders. I manage operations managers and coach the team leaders under them.

Quick intro

I am a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon. I joined as an intern in 2021, went through the Amazon Pathways leadership program, and today I am accountable for an entire fulfilment centre: its people, its plan and its results.

Before Amazon I was an engineer: a double master's in production systems from RWTH Aachen and Wrocław University of Science and Technology, then process engineering at ZF and Toyota. That is where I learned to see a problem as a system. Leading large teams is where I learned that the system is people.
